Ceiling Types

In general, based on the material type there are mainly two types of ceiling

  1. POP ceiling
  2. Dampa Ceiling

Dampa ceiling comes in the form of tiles mainly 2’-0” x2’-0” in size. They are mostly used in corporate industry. They are installed with the help of steel wires that are hinged to roof and silver lining that separates each sheet from one another.

POP ceilings are made of plaster of paris. There are different kinds of POP ceilings based on the design, pattern, and shape. The main types are mentioned below:

Beam Ceiling

The beam ceiling refers to the use of wooden or metallic beams in the ceiling. Such type of ceiling can be used in outdoor kitchens or halls. The beams can be suspended, vertically, or horizontally aligned. Any type of pattern can be formed using beams.

Flat Ceilings

The most traditional ceiling is the flat ceiling type; it is a simply designed ceiling in the form of flat panels covering complete roof. The main advantage of the flat ceiling is that they are economical and can be glammed by adding different type of lights. They are best utilized where there is less clear height.

Tray Ceiling

Tray type ceiling are best for the dining halls or living rooms. It gives a spacious look to your living room. People identify tray ceiling as conventional ceiling but both are different in their shapes because tray ceiling gives a shape and look of a tray. The depth of hollow part of ceiling is kept around 4 inches.

Shed Ceiling

Shed ceilings are mainly used to enhance and glam the aesthetic value of attics. The material used for the construction of such type of ceiling is either hardwood which is economical or faux wood which is less economical. The shed ceilings are domed type and are provided with appropriate slope that adds value to the house aesthetics.
